Estavela is a regenerative cultural initiative based in Montenegro, creating immersive journeys and learning experiences rooted in land, heritage, and ancestral knowledge.
Our work lives at the intersection of ecology, culture, and community. We design small-scale, intentional experiences that invite people to slow down, participate, and reconnect — with place, with tradition, and with one another.
Estavela is not a tour operator.
It is a practice of relating to land.
Why Estavela Exists
Across the region, traditional knowledge, rural livelihoods, and land-based practices are gradually disappearing — often replaced by models of tourism that prioritise speed and scale over relationship with place.
Estavela was created as a response.
We work to support and regenerate land, water, and living cultural practices by creating experiences that:
• Keep value within local communities
• Revitalise ancestral skills and knowledge
• Support circular, regenerative economies
• Foster long-term relationships with place
How We Work
Small Groups
Our experiences are intentionally intimate, allowing space for meaningful interaction with place and with one another.
Local Hosts
Workshops and encounters are guided by local practitioners whose knowledge is rooted in lived practice.
Hands-On Learning
Participants engage directly with land, materials, and traditions through making, walking, and shared experience.
Living Knowledge, Not Exhibits
The knowledge shared through Estavela is living knowledge — practiced daily by local women, artisans, farmers, and cultural custodians.
Participants do not observe from a distance. They learn by doing: walking ancient paths, preparing food, working with soil, creating with their hands, and listening to stories carried by land and memory.
Our Regenerative Commitment
